Broad        Sword

Pretty much every culture on the planet has had some variation of the Broadsword at some time in thier history. This is because pretty much every culture on the planet has had some form of heavy body armor at some point in their history. If your weapon won't cut thru a heavy armor, and your opponent happens to be wearing some, the best you can hope do is bludgeon him to death.

 

The version of Broadsword we most often choose to make is the

Bastard Sword:

Light enough to be used with one hand, thus allowing the use of a shield for defense, but with a long enough hilt that two hands can comfortably grip it if extra power is needed to hack thru a heavier armor.

  • Carefully counter-balanced to provide an optimum combination of agility and momentum, balances range from 3" to 6" out from the guard.
  • Our usual edge on these blades is what we call a "chisel" edge, designed for hacking thru armor, but we can also put sharp slashing edges and dull stage combat edges on them for a fee.
